A rumoured James Bond star has fans in shock after they discovered he is celebrating his 40th birthday.
Divergent star Theo James marks his milestone birthday today, with fans flocking to social media to send their well wishes.
But many have been left bowled over by the fact The Gentlemen actor is, indeed, 40 years old, praising his ageless appearance as well as his acting abilities.
’40 and still so fine….,’ Nicejanice19 wrote on X, with many simply sharing ’40?!’ to express their shock.
Srujan commented: ’40?!! aging like THEE finest wine in history.’
Learninkwell agreed, writing: ‘Aging like fine wine and stealing scenes everywhere.’
Eatyourcheckers added: ‘Well he definitely aged well!’, and Mid4lover said: ‘He look 26 lord he aged really good.’
‘He getting finer with age,’ DannyFantomXx concluded.
Theo turning the big 4-0 coincides with the news that he will star in an eagerly-anticipated thriller film from acclaimed director Kim Jee-woon.
The White Lotus star is set to appear in The Hole, the latest film from I Saw The Devil creator Jee-woon.
It will be based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Hye-young Pyun that follows Oghi after he wakes from a coma caused by a car accident that killed his wife.
The crash leaves Oghi paralysed and badly disfigured, leading his mother-in-law to become his carer while also grieving the loss of her daughter.
According to Deadline, Jee-woon’s adaptation will see James take on the role of Owen, a professor living in South Korea who is bedridden after a car accident that kills his wife, Sandy.
He is cared for by his mother-in-law, Yuna, who begins to unravel the truth behind Owen and Sandy’s marriage, leaving Owen in danger.
James also joined fellow Bond hopeful Aaron Taylor-Johnson filming scenes for a new blockbuster film earlier this year in Kent.
Fuze, directed by David Mackenzie, ‘opens on the discovery of an unexploded World War II bomb in a London construction site sparking a mass evacuation the perfect cover for a heist,’ according to a synopsis.
James is a favourite to become the next James Bond following Daniel Craig’s exit, with odds placing him at 7/2 to become the superspy.
The actor isn’t so sure of his chances, however, telling The Guardian: ‘Everyone’s interested in [Bond] because it’s a big part of British cultural identity, but that probably wouldn’t be me.
‘I do think there are better people for that job. And, honestly, it would be terrifying: if you do that, there’s no going back. You’re opening Pandora’s box there.
‘You have got to be willing to live a very different life and have a different life for your family. And that would be pretty tricky. Plus, my mates would take the p**s out of me. Because they always say, “Bondopoulos – the Greek Bond.”‘
