Netflix viewers have been raving about the latest dating show to hit our screens, branding it the best one yet.
If you’re fed up of seeing young, 20-somethings pulling each other for chats on Love Island, or jumping in at the speed of light on Love Is Blind, the Later Daters might be the new series for you.
The program was released on Netflix today and follows ‘six baby boomers’ as they give romance another try, surrounded by their loved ones and dating coach Logan Ury.
Not only does it sound like gripping TV, it also has the Michelle Obama seal of approval as the former First Lady of the United States serves as executive producer.
Despite only premiering on the streaming platform a matter of hours ago, fans have been binge-watching the eight-part program in their droves and flocking to social media to celebrate a rare look at adults getting a second chance at love.
Twitter user Joslyn Smith raved: ‘The Later Daters is so so cute!! I’m here for the mature older adults dating!’
‘On episode one of The Later Daters and it’s already my favorite dating show,’ Suya agreed.
_Sarah_smile penned: ‘I’m watching the Later Daters on Netflix and these old ppl are so cute.’
XCheMoni said: ‘The Later Daters on Netflix is def the dating show for me cause I’m tired of watching these damn churren (and by that I mean anyone under 35… which includes me lmao) [sic].’
Over on Reddit, SuperSayan7 enthused: ‘I’m watching it now! I’m on the second episode and loving it.’
As Alin66 added: ‘Just started!! So worth it, right??’
In a teaser for the episodes, singletons were seen discussing how those who wanted to find love used to place ads in newspapers looking for a partner, before apps like Tinder and Hinge made things a lot easier.
Discussing what her advert would read today, one contestant laughed: ‘Single woman meets yachtsman that owns an island.
‘It doesn’t even need to be a yacht. It could just be a boat.’
Honestly, hard same.
‘Young middle-aged Black professional seeks well-established, attractive woman who is looking for some adventure, some stability and a whole lot of bumping and grinding,’ another told the camera before chuckling.
The official synopsis reads: ‘Six baby boomers, with the help of their adult kids, closest friends, and a renowned relationship expert, are getting another shot at love in The Later Daters, an inspiring and relatable new dating docuseries.
‘With Harvard-trained behavioral scientist Logan Ury coaching them as they navigate a whole new dating world and its different rules and online etiquette (where the eggplant emoji maybe doesn’t mean what they think it does).
‘Whether divorced, widowed, or longtime single, they end up forging deeper connections not only with their families and potential partners, but with themselves.’
The Later Daters is available to stream on Netflix now.
